Until the end of May, the evolution of the license issued by the Municipal Councils for works of new construction or rehabilitation in residential buildings increased by 0.6% in year-on-year terms.
According to the Statistical Synthesis of Housing, published by AICCOPN, the number of licensed dwellings in new constructions presents, in this period, a positive year-on-year variation of 5%, for a total of 13,293.
With regard to the evolution of credit granted by financial institutions, there was a year-on-year growth of 19% up to May in the amount of new credit granted to housing, which represents 6,998 million euros.
In turn, the median value of the housing appraisal for the purpose of granting credit shows, in May, a variation of 13.9%, which results from variations of 15.3% in apartments and 9.1% in housing .
AICCOPN also advances that by the end of May, cement consumption in the national market reached 1,658 thousand tons, that is, 4.3% more than in the same period of 2021, which corresponds to an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the accumulated year-on-year change in April.
In Alentejo, the number of licensed dwellings in new constructions in the twelve months ending in May 2022 was 1,174, a figure that represents an increase of 16.6% compared to the 1,007 licensed dwellings in the previous twelve months. Of these, 5% are T0 or T1 typology, 17% are T2 typology, 54% T3 typology and 23% T4 typology or higher. As for the bank appraisal value of housing, there was, in this region, a year-on-year change of 9.3% in May.
